Die urspr\u00fcngliche Burg wurde im Jahr 508 gegr\u00fcndet, wodurch das Kloster auf einem geschichtstr\u00e4chtigen Areal errichtet ist. Derzeit wird das Kloster von einer Gemeinschaft von zw\u00f6lf M\u00f6nchen gef\u00fchrt. Es bietet nicht nur spirituelle Dienste, sondern auch Seminare und Tagungsr\u00e4ume an. Zudem k\u00f6nnen Besucher an F\u00fchrungen durch den umfangreichen Geb\u00e4udekomplex teilnehmen. Seit 1119 brauen die M\u00f6nche hier Bier, das bis heute hergestellt und \u00fcber die Region hinaus bekannt ist. Das Kloster ist auch ein kultureller Treffpunkt mit ganzj\u00e4hrig stattfindenden Veranstaltungen. Ein besonderes Highlight ist &#8222;Kunst im Gut&#8220;, das zweimal im Jahr stattfindet. Diese Veranstaltung bietet Kunsthandwerk, Design, Vorf\u00fchrungen, zahlreiche Workshops, Theater und Musik in der eindrucksvollen Atmosph\u00e4re des Innen- und Au\u00dfengel\u00e4ndes des Klosters. Das Museum pr\u00e4sentiert hier Funde aus \u00fcber 100 Jahren arch\u00e4ologischer Ausgrabungen, die einen realistischen Einblick in das damalige Leben erm\u00f6glichen. Unter den Exponaten befinden sich auch wertvolle Goldsch\u00e4tze aus dieser Zeit. Zudem kann das \u00e4lteste einheimische Schriftdenkmal Mitteleuropas, die &#8222;Bojos-Scherbe&#8220;, besichtigt werden. Die ausgestellten Werkzeuge zeigen, wie fortgeschritten das Handwerk und die Landwirtschaft damals waren. Es wird auch deutlich, dass die Menschen bereits Verbindungen zu einem globalen Netzwerk pflegten. Im Jahr 1904 \u00fcbernahm Michael Salleck die Brauerei, der Gro\u00dfvater des aktuellen Inhabers Leonhard Salleck. Die Familie Salleck ist nun schon in der achten Generation im Brauereihandwerk t\u00e4tig. Leonhards Vater, Michael Salleck, errichtete 1918 au\u00dferhalb der Stadt ein neues Brauereigeb\u00e4ude und spezialisierte sich auf die Herstellung von hellem und dunklem Hefewei\u00dfbier. Sie gilt mittlerweile als die gr\u00f6\u00dfte Therme der Welt und ist ein beliebtes Ausflugsziel f\u00fcr Erholungssuchende und Aktivurlauber, egal ob bei gutem oder schlechtem Wetter. Auf einer Fl\u00e4che von 180.000 m\u00b2 bietet die Therme Erding ein Wellenbad, zahlreiche Saunen, die Vitaloase, viele Rutschen sowie Massage- und Solarienangebote. Im Sommer wird die Glaskuppel ge\u00f6ffnet und die Therme verwandelt sich in ein Freibad.
